Kyrgyzstan may become the first Muslim country to legalise prostitution – The initiative is supported by some MPs and government officials who point at the fact that Kyrgyzstan isn’t a rich country at all, while nothing from the millions of dollars earned through the oldest profession gets it into the state budget.

Sex workers have practically no rights today and often get fleeced by pimps or policemen and beaten by their clients. Legalization of the business is seen as a solution to the problem. Prostitutes can then start working legally and receive a state pension, medical care, the state’s protection and a tolerant attitude towards them in the society.

I find it kind of interesting that Kyrgyzstan are looking at liberating laws and Sweden are doing the opposite when it comes to prostitution….

Sweet socialism - Bad health care

In Sweden we have a tons of unions and there is always some strike going on - this time it is the health care sector.

Right now a couple hundreds of nurses in Stockholm are on strike which means that getting healthcare is even harder than usual in Stockholm. From May 16, 41 new regions are going out on strike around Sweden – you can imagine the effects yourself.

The demands are higher salary, less working hours and some sort of classes for the nurses. So more money for less work – sounds like a winning solution, doesn’t it??

I only have one comment regarding all this - privatize and hire people who actually show up and do their job!

A Camp in the middle of Europe

The Belarusian dictator, Lukashenka, has announced that he is sending thousands of students to work in the Tjernobyl Zone where the reactor exploded 1986; one of them is my good friend Kasja Markouskaja.

Many people from these areas moved away after the explosion; Lukashenka now wants to repopulate them so agriculture and industry can be revived – no concern for the obvious health risk is shown by the Belarusian government, who threatens to put those who oppose in prison.

Lukashenka is becoming more and more aggressive towards the opposition and his methods give us a reminder of the Soviet Union and the terrible crimes against humanity that were committed for a long time.

Kajsa is one on many people who is forced to risk her life and live like a slave under Lukashenka’s regime.

It is time to act for freedom.

I have called upon the Swedish leaders to take act within the European Union to enforce more sanctions towards Belarus and demand an immediate stop for these labor camps. The Swedish Prime minister should also bring up the topic with the Russian government as they are the only county with influence over Belarus. Russians newly elected president, Medvedev, has an excellent opportunity to show that he is willing to stand up for human right and participate in international cooperation for democracy.

The same measurement should be taken by US leaders.

The Swedish people’s party (social liberal) have announced that they will focus on the euro in the upcoming European election in 2009.

If you were looking for the absolute worst question to build a campaign on, they are on the right track.

Sweden held a referendum on the Euro in 2003 and people voted against the politically controlled currency. Ever since that, the politicians are trying to find ways to adapt the euro without asking the people.

We will probably vote on this issue til we vote "right"

I hate political parties sometime...

Have you ever wanted to kill somebody? Well, if you do, Sweden is the place to go.

A man who killed a 15 year old just got released in the wait for a trial - even his own defense lawyer was surprised.

Another man, who killed his girlfriend, got 10 years but he only has to serve 2/3 of that punishment. So he'll be out in 6.5 years

When you live in a country like this death punishment doesn’t seem so bad.

Citizens for a referendum

When Sweden held a referendum on the Euro an organization called “Citizens against the Euro” was the main opposition towards the European currency – and we won.

Today the organization is called “Citizens for a referendum” and the topic this time is that we want a referendum on the European constitution.

Come on! Let’s vote for corruption!

Last Tuesday the European parliament voted on granting discharge for 20 European institutions. The accountants only wanted to grant 4 institutions discharge because 3.5 Billions were missing from the budget (for the 13th year in a row)
But the members of the European parliament decided to ignore the accountants and voted for giving all the 20 institutions liability.

Good old EU – always sticking up for each other and filling each others pockets.

What was surprising to me was that all the MEPs from my party voted for this…
An article is on its way to question their decision.

Last Friday I had an article published in a Swedish newspaper concerning the Swedish justice system.

The background to the article is that a 10 year old girl was recently kidnapped and killed and made headlines for a week in Sweden.
What nobody wanted to talk about was that the man who killed her was convicted 5 times for rape and for using violence towards young girls before this happened. The longest punishment he got was 1 year and 10 months. So it can’t be a surprise that he did it again and this time even killed a girl.

In Sweden you get 2 years for rape and can get away with 4 for murder. There is something seriously wrong.

In my article I suggest stricter punishment and the “three strikes and you are out” system.
